Assessing Community Traffic Safety Training

When: Tuesday, February 10 and Wednesday, February 11, 2004
Where: Texas A & M University-Corpus Christi Natural Resource Center – Room 2010
Time: 8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. – both days

If your county is in the top 20 for excessive traffic crash fatalities and serious injuries or if you want to learn more about how to reduce your county’s traffic safety injuries and deaths, this workshop will provide information on problem identification and solutions. Other workshop topics include:

Day 1

Demonstration of the Assessing Community Traffic Safety (ACTS)
Engineering Improvements and Resources for Community Coalitions
Older Driver Tool Kit (roadway treatments to make streets friendlier/navigable for communities)

Day 2

Marketing Traffic Safety Programs
Strategies for Coalition Sustainability
Working with Local Employers (Network of Employers for Traffic Safety –NETS)
Coalition Building and Ideas for Membership Recruitment and Retention
