• Addressing the older driver issue by providing support for 55 Alive programs.
  • Provided promotion for a class in Spring 2002. Attendance increased 83% from previous year. Evaluations from participants were very positive.
  • The coalition obtained donations from two local agencies to provide scholarships to offset registration fee for seniors.
  • Coalition is considering sponsoring another class in the fall
• A Michigan State Police Trooper will be writing articles for an MSP newsletter regarding older driver issues.
• The coalition is discussing ways to promote the availability of OC-88 form, Request for Driver Evaluation. This is an anonymous form which people can use to request a driver test when concerned about someone’s driving abilities.
• Will be sponsoring a workshop at the Senior Fair on the older driver issue and will promote the 55 Alive program.
