Michigan Directory: For a completing listing of state agency resources and local programs, this web site is a valuable resource for safe communities and other community coalitions.
This site links to Michigan Department of Community Health, Michigan State Police, Michigan Department of Transportation and other state agencies and divisions.

Michigan NETS: A public/private partnership, Michigan NETS unites the highway safety expertise and resources of the Office of Highway Safety Planning with the knowledge and private sector insights of business leaders. The goal is to increase profits, reduce operating costs, and minimize the public costs to citizens and businesses by reducing motor vehicle-related deaths and injuries. Through training, information resources, policy statements, and campaign materials, Michigan NETS assist employers in the creation and implementation of effective traffic safety programs.

The Safe Community group is also developing a strategy to recognize communities who are working to improve their safety status. List of OHSP’s law enforcement liaisons: The Michigan Office of Highway Safety Planning Law Enforcement Liaisons are a resource for community coalitions. The liaisons oversee grassroots mobilization campaigns in their regions and they can provide information about local media events and programs.

OHSP Drive Michigan Safely Project Directors: Through the Drive Michigan Safely Task Force, 21 Michigan counties with high traffic crash rates participate in the grant-funded overtime patrols aimed specifically at enforcing safety belt laws and getting drunk drivers off the road. The task force also serves as an umbrella campaign for the Click It or Ticket and You Drink & Drive. You Lose programs. The task force is a valuable resource for community coalitions. Contact the project directors to determine how your coalition can get involved and assist in saving lives and reducing injuries at the local level.
